In 2022, Maison Louis Jadot, along with its Burgundy partners, is launching Bike to Care, a unique charity and sporting event. Its objective is clear: to combine sport, solidarity, and a passion for wine to support hospitality professionals, who have been hit hard by the health crisis.

Since the first edition in Burgundy, teams from around the world have been mobilizing by bike through the vineyards. Their goal: to raise funds for associations active in the restaurant and hospitality sectors. These associations support people in difficulty, foster careers, and support the training of tomorrow’s talents.

Since then, Bike to Care has alternated annually between Burgundy and Bordeaux. In just three years, it has become a must-see event. Nearly one million euros has already been raised for essential causes. The event brings together an international community of enthusiasts around strong values.

A collective and united challenge

The teams are composed of 8 to 10 members. They come from all over the world to take on this solidarity challenge. Each team’s mission is to raise funds and select a beneficiary organization. This organization can operate locally or internationally, always in the hospitality and restaurant sectors.

Participants include chefs, sommeliers, importers, as well as winemakers from Burgundy and Bordeaux.

All share a common passion for cycling and the culinary profession. They are committed to a collective challenge where individual performance is overshadowed by a spirit of solidarity. In other words, the goal is not to win, but to contribute to a meaningful cause.

The funds raised by all teams are entirely allocated to organizations that support, train, and inspire the new generation of restaurateurs, sommeliers, and hospitality professionals.

Château de Portets, the committed starting point of Bike to Care 2025

For this edition, Château de Portets had the honor of welcoming participants on the first day of the race. Located in the heart of the Graves vineyards, the estate served as a veritable base camp for the launch of this charity event.

As the starting and finishing point for this first stage, the estate provided an inspiring setting, blending heritage, local produce, and a friendly atmosphere. The runners, who came from all over the world, received a warm welcome before setting off on the roads of Bordeaux, fueled by a spirit of solidarity and shared passion.

Thus, by hosting this symbolic stage, Château de Portets fully affirmed its commitment to the values embodied by the event: sharing, knowledge transfer, and support for hospitality professionals.

More than €400,000 raised thanks to the exceptional commitment of the teams

A huge congratulations and thank you to all the teams for their incredible energy over the past few months, and especially during these two days of racing. Thanks to their dedication, more than €400,000 was raised for associations working to train and support hospitality professionals.

The success of this 4th edition in Bordeaux would not have been possible without the generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment of each participant, as well as the dedication of the wineries that opened their doors to make this event an unforgettable experience.

See you in 2026 in Champagne for the 5th edition, brilliantly hosted by Krug Champagne!
