Graves Ambassador Label

The label ‘Ambassador of Graves‘, initiated by the Graves Winegrowers' Union, aims to convey the collective image of the wines of this historic appellation. The goal is simple: to enable consumers to easily identify the wines suited to their tastes by involving them in the selection process for the Ambassador wines.

The Château de Portets is proud to have been selected by consumers: our vintage years Château de Portets Graves red 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 They bear the «Ambassadors of Graves» macaron, a recognition of the work accomplished, the quality of the wines, and the desire to make the Graves appellation known.

The award-winning properties are part of an approach to excellence in:

The winning properties are part of an approach to excellence recognized by the Graves appellation. However, the «Ambassador of the Graves» label stands out from a traditional distinction.
Beyond the requirements of production, the environment and wine tourism, wines are also subject to evaluation by panels of consumers recruited and supervised by the sensory analysis agency Techni’Sens.
These tasters, selected to represent genuine wine enthusiasts, taste the cuvées blindfold and evaluate those that best express the qualities expected by consumers.

This approach allows the technical expertise of the winemakers to be combined with the public’s appreciation, making the Ambassadors of Graves the flagbearers of the appellation among wine enthusiasts in France and internationally.

They become the locomotives of a renowned and recognized AOC, both in France and internationally. For the winemakers, this award marks the concreteization of a policy of excellence and demanding production. Collectively, it demonstrates the ability of the winegrowers to the Graves AOC to perpetuate the know-how inherited from an incomparable history that places their wines among the most appreciated in the Bordeaux wine region in France and internationally.
